Hammers stadium deal collapses

West Ham United's proposed deal to make use of the Olympic Stadium after the completion of the 2012 Summer Olympics seems to have fallen through.
The Olympic Park Legacy Company (OPLC) on February 11, 2011, in a unanimous decision selected West Ham as the preferred bidder for the stadium. However, this move was strongly opposed by Tottenham and Leyton Orient.
According to sources, the OPLC is now secretly fearful that this could lead to a lengthy courtroom battle that would leave the stadium unused for years and have made an agreement with the government and Mayor of London Boris Johnson that the ownership of the ground should remain public.
This decision will most likely be confirmed on Tuesday.
Tottenham, who were initially interested now seem to be moving forward with plans to redevelop White Hart Lane.
