Man Utd Sign New Commercial Deal

Premier League champions Manchester United have signed a new commercial deal with Malaysian snack Mister Potato, thus continuing their aggressive overseas commercial policy.

The club has signed a three year deal which will see many of the club's superstars appear on the packaging of the product. Mister Potato will become the official snack partner of the club and will be advertised on the digital boards at Old Trafford during matches.

Wayne Rooney, Ji Sung Park and Ryan Giggs are the three players that will appear on the Mister Potato packaging.

Mister Potato is owned by Mamee-Double Decker and their CEO, Datuk Pand Tee Chew claimed that such a deal with United was the first of its kind in Malaysia and went a long way in providing an authentic experience to the fans.

“As a global snack partner of Manchester United, we are able to provide the opportunity for Malaysian fans to have the ‘Ultimate Man Utd Experience', by giving them the opportunity to watch matches live at Old Trafford, a chance to win official signed merchandise and potentially meet their favourite players or legends.

"I believe Mister Potato’s brand image will be elevated by this partnership and the football fans will love Mister Potato just as they love Manchester United."

Richard Arnold, Manchester United's commercial director, was just as thrilled by the partnership.

"This deal is an excellent example of the global appeal of Manchester United and its ability to attract well-established but ambitious companies into partnership.

"Mister Potato has been the leading snack brand in Malaysia for many years now and their desire to expand that presence to other parts of South-East Asia and beyond, makes a deal with United a perfect fit.”
