Deco to get 50th cap

Deco will play for the 50th time for the Selecção das Quinas against Azerbaijan in Baku. Deco has notched up 50 caps in four years and today will be a momentous occasion for the Barcelona midfielder.

"Portugal is always in the World Cup and in a Euro championship and from that we have earned a lot and gained a lot", said the man who made his Portugal debut on the 29th of March 2003.

Deco was the subject of controversy being from Brazil but playing for Portugal, but the ex-Porto man was wanted by Scolari to lead the midfield in the game, ironically, against Brazil.

“I remember the first game that was against Brazil up in Porto. That was really special because I played for FC Porto and the rest has just sped by”, explained the player.
