Versatile Stoke City midfielder Rory Delap admitted that recent home form has not been up to scratch, and admitted that the 3-1 win over Blackburn is a major confidence boost.

Delap scored a goal as the Potters romped to a 3-1 victory, and the Irishman hopes his club can now turn a corner.

"Not many of us have experienced it and the fans here haven’t," said Delap. "The atmosphere is amazing but the Premier League is our bread and butter so we needed to sort that out.

"If you’re not at it in this league, you’ll get beaten. There’s not necessarily been tension and nerves – but you don’t go high-fiving when you’ve been beaten.

"We haven’t been good enough, never mind the Europa League. We’ve been OK for 15 minutes in games but that’s not enough. There is no hiding, we’ve conceded sloppy goals as well as not playing well. It’s great we’ve ended the run but there’s more to do."
