Aston Villa admire Yannick Djalo talent

Alex Mcleish wants to rescue Yannick Djalo from his Sporting Lisbon nightmare, and offer the striker an olive branch with a move that brings the Portuguese international to England.

Aston Villa have been locked in discussions with Djalo's agent for over three weeks, and are close to agreeing a 3m GBP move with Sporting for his signature.


Djalo was once very highly rated in Portugal, and earned his first cap in 2010. His career took a nose dive since last summer, when Djalo agreed a move to French club Nice, but the deal fell through at the last minute.


Since then, Djalo has not played any first team football and is desperate to move elsewhere.


The Villains are currently in advanced negotiations for the striker.
