Everton to move for Carlos Zambrano

The Toffees today have been linked with a January loan move for Peruvian defender Carlos August Zambrano of Schalke 04. The defender is currently a fringe player for the Bundesliga side.

The 22-year-old has been with Schalke since 2006, but has only just forced his way into the first team.


Zambrano could join Everton on loan initially, and then a permanent deal can be arranged at the end of the year.


The versatile defensive player is comfortable playing in both midfield or defence, and David Moyes wants to bring him to the club as cover for the second half of the season.
