The Reds are weighing up a January transfer for a defensive midfielder, with Lucas certain to be out until the end of the season and Liverpool short of players in that department. In addition, Jonjo Shelvey could be allowed to leave Anfield on loan until the summer.
Armin Bacinovic is very highly rated in Italy, and since arriving from Maribor in 2010, the player has forced his way into the Rosanero's first team for whom he has made 9 appearances so far this year.
Bacinovic still has over 4 years remaining on his current deal, and Palermo are believed to be looking for a fee in the region of 6.5m GBP.
