Arsenal midfielder Arshavin free to leave
Russian international captain Andrei Arshavin has reportedly been told that he is free to leave the Emirates this month. Several big clubs are expected to express an interest in the former Zenit player, with Anzhi believed to be the favorites to land the 12m rated player.
Since arriving at the Emirates, Arshavin has shown flashes of brilliance, but more often than not failed to live up to his hefty 15m price tag. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will reportedly listen to offers for the player now that clubs are free to make transfers again.
The good form of Gervinho and Theo Walcott has seen Arshavin often consigned to the substitutes bench, and the Russian generally only called upon for the last 15-20 minutes of a game.
