Newcastle submit loan offer for Eljero Elia

Newcastle look set to rekindle their interest in Dutch winger Eljero Elia, after reportedly submitting a loan offer to the Turin giants to bring the winger to the Sports Direct Arena for the remainder of the season.

Elia has fallen down the pecking order at Juve since arriving from Hamburg during the summer, and has only played two games since his transfer. 


Newcastle were interested in Elia at the end of last season, but missed out on his coveted signature due to Juventus' pursuit of the player.


The 24-year-old has told his club that he wants first team football so that he can guarantee a place in the Netherlands' Euro 2012 squad this summer.
