Fulham manager backs Zamora sale

Fulham manager Martin Jol thinks that his club will benefit from the sale of Bobby Zamora. On transfer deadline day the striker made a move to QPR, and Pavel Pogrebnyak was brought in to replace the England international.

There had been reports of an internal rift between the Cottagers' manager and Zamora, but Martin Jol last week denied the reports.

However, QPR were able to sign Zamora on transfer deadline day for around 5.5 million GBP.

"Bobby wanted to move so we had to wait for a good offer and QPR made a good offer," said Jol.

"If you ask your boss to move, I think he will get the impression you don't want to work for him. That is the only impression I got. He wanted to move. It was only a matter of making a decision of whether to keep him or let him go."
