Tottenham chase keeper Denis Petric

Tottenham have been watching Slovenian goalkeeper Denis Petric. Currently at FC Istres', the 23 year old goalkeeper worked his way through the Auxerre youth ranks before making an move to Istres, where he has since been a first team regular.

The 23 year old has been in glowing form for his club, who currently lie in 7th place in Ligue 2. The club are now prepared to cash in on his enormous talent, after Ligue 1 promotion could not be guaranteed this year.


Petric has been watched by several top French scouts this year, including those of Rennes and even his former club Auxerre, but Tottenham could be the surprise choice for the shot stopper.


Spurs are hoping to tie Brad Friedel down to another season at White Hart Lane, but Petric has been earmarked as the long term replacement for the American keeper.
