O'Neill to bring back McGeady to UK

Martin O'Neill is set to bolster his squad for the summer and has identified Aiden McGeady as the top transfer target. The reports from Russia suggest that McGeady has failed to impress the Moscow boss Valery Karpin and Spartak legend Oleg Romantsev forcing the Irish international to move out of the club.

The 26-year old attacker who is comfortable in both the wings has a hefty price tag of £12.5million. Sunderland might not be willing to pay that much although the player has 26 months of his contract still to run.

The Glaswegian had played under O'Neill as an 18-year old when he was in Celtic. The Black Cats boss had to fight against bids from various other clubs to win the signature of McGeady back then.

O'Neill commented that he needs to sit with the club's owner and discuss on the budget before he express interest on any player. The club's owner and chairman, Ellis Short, will be visiting the Stadium of Light in the final games of the Premier League season.
