Everton monitor defender Nicolas Isimat-Mirin

Everton have been monitoring the progress of Valenciennes defender Nicolas Isimat-Mirin. The 21-year-old could be a long term replacement for Sylvain Distin, who is expected to complete his switch away from Goodison Park.

The 6 foot 2 defender is one of the best young prospects in France, and has attracted interest from several Premier League sides but Everton are in pole position to sign the player.


Liverpool were also a big fan of Isimat-Mirin, but had given up in their efforts to sign the player.
