Sunderland sign Mobido Diakite

The Black Cats have finally completed a move for 26-year-old defender Mobido Diakite from Lazio. The Senegalese player moves to the Stadium of Light on a four year contract.

Diakite becomes Paolo Di Canio's first major signing since moving to Sunderland as head coach.


Di Canio hinted at the end of the season that a major reshuffle would be taking place at the Stadium of Light, and with the signing of Diakite and also the expected transfer of Valentin Roberge, a busy summer is well under way.
