Martin Demichelis Atletico Bound

According to Marca, Martin Demichelis is the next signing for Atletico Madrid this summer. It has been reported that the Argentine central defender is bound to leave for the La Liga club for one season in a deal worth €1.5 million.

The 32-year-old will fulfill Atletico’s search for a tested center-back who would strengthen the team’s defence wall. The Spanish outfit has hired his services for one season.


Demichelis has been impressive as a defender over the past few seasons with Malaga and he can also play as a defensive midfielder. Demichelis is the latest addition to the Atletico squad, following the signings of Leo Baptistao and David Villa. Villa has joined the club from the La Liga champions, Barcelona, earlier this week.


Demicheles, who turns 33 next December, has played for Bayern Munich for most of his career, after the Bundesliga champions signed him from River Plate.
