Liverpool and Tottenham chasing Brazilian star Bernard

Atletico Mineiro's left midfielder Bernard has been linked with a move to several Premier League clubs, but it appears that Liverpool are leading the race for the player's coveted signature.

The 20-year-old burst onto the scene in the Brazilian leagues back in 2010 and has since gone on to appear for the Brazil national team 5 times. Last year two unnamed Russian teams had £10 million offers rejected for the left winger, but Liverpool are about to make a massive £20 million bid for the starlet.


Tottenham were also rumoured to be in the race for the player, but after signing Paulinho from Corinthians it appears that Spurs' interest has cooled.


The 5 foot 4 youngster could be signed at Liverpool as a possible replacement for Luis Suarez, who has been linked with a transfer to both Arsenal and Real Madrid.
