Chelsea Sign Chilean Youngster Cristian Cuevas

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Cristian Cuevas from Chilean outfit O’Higgins. Chelsea had been monitoring the teenager from Chile for the last couple of years.

The 18-year-old Chile Under-20 player is equally good as a left-back or a left-winger. Chelsea have finally managed to get Cuevas sign on a contract that binds him to the club until the summer of 2018.


Cuevas came through the youth ranks at O’Higgins and quickly climbed up the pecking order to make some senior appearances. He also impressed recently in the Under-20 World Cup, playing four out of five matches.


Cuevas was expected to complete his transfer this summer, following an impressive trial at the club in November. He becomes the fourth signing for Mourinho in his second spell at Chelsea.
