Tottenham enter race to sign Steaua Bucharest defender Vlad Chiriches

Premier League Tottenham Hotspurs have joined the race to capture the signature of Steaua Bucharest's talented defender Vlad Chiriches.

The North London club's manager Andre Villas-Boas is still on the look out to stregthen all the bases within his squad ahead of the upcoming Premier League season. Following the release of French defender William Gallas during the summer, the manager is now on the verge of searching for a new central defender to fill out the void.  


23-year-old Chiriches who has also been strongly linked with a move to Seria A side As Roma has also been on the tracker of the Italian club's league rivals Ac Milan. Reports in Romania suggest that Tottenham are closing in on the move and his agent is set to discuss the terms of deal with the North London club.
