Brazilian International Willian Borges da Silva admits Premier League interest

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have been put on alert as their target Willian Borges da Silva has made clear of his desire to move to the Premier League, according to reports in The Metro.

Willian currently plys his trade for Anzhi Makhachkala, having made a switch from Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk for £30 million during the winter transfer window in January. Although the Brazilian winger admitted of his happiness with life in Russia, he still insists that his desire to a Premier League switch haven’t ebbed either,“I tried to leave Shakhtar for over a year, but couldn’t do it.I had offers from big English clubs and from other places, but Shakhtar never accepted them. Anzhi were the only ones who agreed to play for my release clause. I have enormous affection and respect for this club, but everybody knows that my dreams and desires haven’t changed.”

Willian who made 222 appearances for Shakhtar has no regrets in leaving his former club,“I wanted very badly to go to England, but I have no regrets and couldn’t wait any longer to leave Shakhtar. They use to tell me one thing and then act otherwise.”

Willian's stated of his main ambition of being a part of the Brazilian squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and he accepted the fact that a move to a highly reputed club would increase the chances of that happening, “I have the goal of playing for a big club and being in the spotlight to rejoin the Brazil national team but for now I’m an Anzhi player, and I intend to keep playing here with a calm mind.”
