Geoffrey Kondogbia Could Leave Sevilla
Sevilla boss Unai Emery has revealed that it could be difficult for the club to retain the services of French international Geoffrey Kondogbia for the next season.
Emery said that the defensive midfielder’s situation at the club could still lead to his departure before the end of the transfer season. The 20-year-old has been repeatedly linked with a move to big clubs like Real Madrid and Arsenal but none of them have made an official offer for him.
The Frenchman joined Sevilla from Lens a year ago in July. His release clause is believed to be in the region of €10 million, which remains to be triggered by any interested club. He is also being tracked by Chelsea and AC Milan, with the latter being the latest addition to the list of his suitors.
"We want him to stay here, but there are circumstances that could lead to an exit," the 41-year-old told Marca.
"We will not make any movement to sell. There is no need to sell and we all know that in the club."
Kondogbia’s current contract with the Andalusian club expires in 2017. He made 31 appearances for them last season.
