Everton could bid for Clint Dempsey

Everton have been linked with a move for Tottenham's out of favour forward Clint Dempsey. The American international has slipped down the pecking order with the arrival of Nacer Chadli and Roberto Soldado.
The former Fulham forward is eager to be playing on a regular basis in Tottenham's first team, particularly as he is now 30 years old the player is conscious that he should be playing week in week out.
Interest from Seattle Sounders in the player last week has intensified, but the player is known to prefer a move to another Premier League side.
It is understood that Everton manager Roberto Martinez is considering a transfer for Dempsey next week.
