Enzo Maresca reacts to Cole Palmer's display vs Everton

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has spoken about the importance of midfielder Cole Palmer following the 2-0 Premier League win over Everton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The England international has had an injury-plagued campaign with the Blues and his absence has contributed to the club's inconsistent performances.

Palmer was back in the starting XI against the Toffees, and he made an instant impact, scoring the opening goal of the game for the London giants.

The Blues eventually won by a 2-0 scoreline and speaking in his post-match presser, Maresca said that the club are a better team with Palmer on the playing field.

He said: "With Cole, we are a better team. This squad has been doing fantastic. We have played almost the whole season without our best player."

Chelsea have jumped into the fourth spot in the table with the victory and are assured to stay there unless Crystal Palace beat Manchester City at home tomorrow.

The Blues will turn their attention to Carabao Cup action in midweek. They are scheduled to face League One leaders Cardiff City on the road on Tuesday night.
