Gareth Bale giving Tottenham the silent treatment

Real Madrid target Gareth Bale is now coming to training at Tottenham but is giving the club the silent treatment. The Wales international is desperate to make a move to Spain and so far Tottenham have yet to accept a bid from his potential suitors.

"Nobody knows Gareth's state of mind because he doesn't speak," Andre Villas-Boas said. "The only thing we see is the player arriving in and out of the training ground. But it's fine. Ideally we'd like him to stay here. This is where his future is.


"He is very far off regarding fitness compared to the others. He hasn't played since our first friendly of the summer so the pre-season has gone by without him being involved, so for Crystal Palace on Sunday, Tbilisi on Thursday and for Swansea next weekend, he won't threaten a comeback."
