Sunderland sign Charis Mavrias from Panathinaikos

Premier League side Sunderland have completed the signing of Greek International Charis Mavrias from Panathinaikos.

The 19-year-old winger signed for the Black Cats for a fee in the region of £2.5m, a deal which would keep him at the Stadium of Light till 2016.


Mavrias has been impressive in his performances in the Greece Superleague since making his debut during the 2010/11 season, and he has notched up 51 appearances for the club as of now.

The talented midfielder has represented the national side twice in his career and becomes the Black Cats manager Paolo Di Canio's 10th signing of the summer transfer window.
