Sunderland close in on the signing of Ki Sung-Yueng

Sunderland are set to seal a deal to bring Swansea midfielder Ki Sung-Yueng to the Stadium of Light, according to Shields Gazette.

The South Korean International was left out of the Swans' 18-man squad for their Europa League encounter against Petrolul Ploiesti on Thursday night, and reports suggest that the talented midfielder is not in Laudrup's plans for the season.

According to the Shields Gazette, the Black Cats are interested in acquiring the services of the creative midfielder and manager Paolo Di Canio may tempt the Welsh club to allow the player move on a season-long loan deal.

Ki joined the Swans just last season, but has found himself out of favour since the arrival of Jonjo Shelvey and Jose Canas.
