Luis Suarez not heading to Real Madrid
Luis Suarez not heading to Real Madrid
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has told reporters that there are no plans to sell star player Luis Suarez before the end of the transfer window. Arsenal were in the race to sign the player and yesterday Real Madrid were also strongly linked with a move for the player.
The Uruguayan international, who has all but ruled out a move away from Anfield this summer, is reportedly desperate to leave the club but Real Madrid will not be his next port of call.
"There might have been a point [to selling Suarez] a few months ago where there was time to do it, but with 11 days to go it would be difficult to replace him," said Rodgers.
"I'm sure there will be plenty of activity in these last number of days. It is what it is and we will deal with it like we have during the summer. It's very difficult at this time [for a Suarez bid to succeed]. We are trying to get one or two more quality players in through the door, but selling Luis now is not an option."
