Watford manager Gianfranco Zola confident of keeping Troy Deeney at Vicarage Road
Watford manager Gianfranco Zola has insisted that he is confident of keeping his star forward Troy Deeney at Vicarage Road for the current season, amidst interest from the Premier League.
The 25-year-old is the top scorer in the Championship this season with five goals from three games. Zola believes that Deeney would stay with the Championship outfit despite reported interest from West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur.
Zola told talkSPORT : "I am not surprised he has caught the attention of Premier League teams as he is doing very well. But I am confident he will stay here and will be playing in the Premier League with us next season.
"We don't want to lose him but we are a small team and if a big team comes looking for our players it can be difficult. But we hope things will stay as they are.
"It doesn't look like the speculation has affected him and I hope it remains that way. He is a hard working player and so far he has kept the [right] attitude."
