Jamie Vardy to join West Ham after Cremonese

West Ham are surprise entrants into the race to sign Jamie Vardy this summer, as the ex-Leicester City forward considers a return to England. The Championship side have been in contact with representatives of Vardy, with an offer of one year at the East London side on the table for the former England international.
It is understood that the Irons, who begin their campaign in the Championship this weekend, are seeking experience and see Vardy as the perfect player to add to their attacking ranks.
Whilst Vardy is very happy in Italy, after departing Cremonese at the end of the season, he is said to be seeking a return to England with his wife and family.
The 39-year-old played for the Foxes for 13 years and won his then club a shock Premier League title and still remains a name etched in British football history forever after eventually making appearances for England's national team.
It is understood that Vardy is willing to move to England on half of the salary he had earned in Italy.
