Tottenham close to finalising deal for Chiriches

Tottenham Hotspurs are on the verge of wrapping up a deal for Steuau Bucharest defender Vlad Chiriches according to Sky Sports.

The English club were in hot pursuit of the highly rated defender but the deal was believed to have fallen through earlier this month. But recent reports suggest that the deal is back on the table and both the clubs are ready to formally announce the transfer anytime soon.


The 23 year old Romanian is believed to complete his move to White Hart Lane for a fee in the region of £7 million and the Steuau Bucharest boss sounded delighted to have finally closed the deal.


"Chiri's condition is good and the clubs have agreed to transfer him. I'm very happy for him," Reghecampf said after Steaua's 2-2 draw with Gaz Metan Medias on Saturday evening.


"I hope he will help us on Tuesday night and of course that he stays healthy.


"The club made ​​money on him and I cannot say the amount for which he is transferred, but it is very high."
