West Brom confirm Anichebe signing

West Bromwich Albion have confirmed that the signing of Victor Anichebe from Premier League side Everton for a fee in the region of  £6m,

Having signed Romelu Lukaku on a season-long loan deal earlier in the day, Everton manager Roberto Martinez allowed the sale of Victor Anichebe to Premier League strugglers West Bromwich Albion.

The Baggies manager Steve Clarke was forced to focus his attention on the talented striker having failed to land Lukaku, who chose a switch to Goodison Park instead.


The fee for Anichebe is presumed to be in the region of £6m depending on performance related clauses.


West Brom had earlier sealed the signing of  Stephane Sessegnon from Sunderland on a club-record deal.
