Willian reveals Chelsea interest in him prior to his move

Brazilian midfielder and Chelsea's latest recruit Willian has revealed that the Londoners have been following him for sometime before finally making a move late in the summer.

The 25 year old highly rated playmaker moved from Anzhi to Chelsea in a big money deal after the Russian outfit decided to sell off their top earning stars. The South American has confirmed that there was some interest from the Blues a couple of months back but Anzhi turned their advances down.


However, despite being reported to be close to securing a move to White Hart Lane the midfielder finally ended up at Stamford Bridge.


"They made an offer two months ago but I was not allowed to leave," he told Brazilian television station Sportv.


"I kept following the club and I used to go to London to follow Chelsea whenever I had free time and now my dream has come true.


"I will work with Mourinho who is the best manager and I will grow a lot with him."
