Getafe complete the signing of Ciprian Marica

La Liga side Getafe have completed the signing of Premier League target Ciprian Marica on a free transfer.

The Romanian International was available on a free transfer after his contract expired with Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04 at the end of last season, and had been linked with a move to either of the North London clubs in Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. 

Having been speculated of a switch to a number of clubs in recent weeks, Ciprian Marica's agent revealed earlier this week of his client's willingness to move to a Spanish club after talks with Spurs fell through. 

Getafe have won the race in acquiring the player's signature from the likes of Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano, who were also interested in the Romanian's services.

Marica has scored an impressive 22 goals in 64 appearances for his country.
