Newcastle United eye move for Ola Toivonen

Newcastle United are reportedly keen on acquiring the signature of Swedish International Ola Toivonen from PSV Eindhoven during the January transfer window.

The 27-year-old's current contract with the Eredivisie outfit is set to expire in the summer and he recently rebuffed a contract extension with the club.

According to The Mirror, Magpies manager Alan Pardew is interested in adding more options to his attacking department and is considering to make a bid for the talented forward.

PSV could sell Toivonen for a transfer fee in the region of £2.5m , rather than loss him on a free at the end of the current campaign.
