Michael Essien ponders Chelsea exit

Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien is apparently looking for an exit from the club during the winter transfer window, according to his agent.

The talented Ghanaian international has just featured six times for the Blues this season and his agent Fabian Piveteau has revealed that a number of top European sides are interested in acquiring the player's services in the upcoming transfer window.


"Essien could leave Chelsea this winter. Several major European clubs playing in the Champions League were informed and the situation should settle down within the next 10 days." Piveteau said.

"You should know that Michael was not on the list of players who can play in the Champions League with Chelsea, so he is free to play in the competition with another club."


Essien has scored 25 goals in 249 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions so far.
