Aston Villa forward Benteke staying put

Christian Benteke will not be sold in the January transfer window, according to the player's agent. The Aston Villa striker has attracted the interest of both Chelsea and Liverpool but it appears the Belgian will be staying at Villa Park for the time being.

The talented forward has long been linked with a move away from Aston Villa, but it appears he is now set to stay put.


The player's former representative at his former club, Standard Liege, told reporters of a move away: "You have to be realistic. There's no question of him leaving at the moment. It wasn't planned at the start of the season, it's not planned now."
