Jermain Defoe signs for Toronto FC
Major League Soccer outfitToronto FC has succesfully completed the signing of English international Jermain Defoe from Tottenham Hotspur.
Defoe had been on the fringes of the first team under former manager Andre Villas-Boas, following the arrival of summer signing Roberto Soldado.
The club managed by former Spurs player Ryan Nelsen, are expected to unveil their new signing by Monday, having agreed a deal with Tottenham Hotspur for the services of Jermain Defoe, following weeks of speculation on the switch.
The Toronto Sun reports that the 31-year-old will be unveiled as the club's Designated Player.
Jermain Defoe has made over 350 appearances for Spurs in all competitions.
