Manchester City release youngster
Manchester City have released their Norwegian midfielder Abdisalam Ibrahim. The 22 year old only made one league appearance for the club since joining them in 2007.
The Norway youth international had recently expressed his frustrations at not being able to get any game time at the Etihad stadium.
A statement on City's Twitter account read: "The club can confirm that Abdisalam Ibrahim has been released from his contract. We wish him well for the future."
Reports suggest that he signed a three and a half year deal with Greek giants Olympiakos.
Premier League clubs Fulham, Swansea City and Newcastle had been credited with an interest in the Somalia-born midfielder.
