Russian Premier League Side Rubin Kazan have confirmed that any deal for PSV striker Tim Matavz is dead in the water.

The two clubs had agreed a deal for the Slovenian but the player failed to clear the medical in Munich. It now appears that the club will be looking at other targets.

This is what Rubin Kazan coach Rinat Bilyaletdinov told Sport Express about the deal,

”We no longer expect Matavz but we are actively seeking further recruitment. I’ve seen videos of the Slovene and I found him interesting. But the deal is off. The Clubs have not managed to reach an agreement.”

“There were some opportunities to solve it, but it’s just impossible. I’m sorry it does not work. Negotiations were complex and lasted long.”

The failure of a deal to materialize will be a big disappointment for PSV as they were expected to recive eight million euros for a player well down the pecking order.
