Bayer Leverkusen have wrapped up a deal to sign 21-year-old striker Josip Drmic from Nurnberg. The forward had been linked with a move to Arsenal after the Gunners sent scouts to watch the player in action.

The Swiss international is expected to make a major impact at the World Cup in Brazil in June, and Bayer Leverkusen have decided to make a move for the player prior to the tournament. It is understood that Leverkusen have paid around 12.5 million Euros to secure his coveted signature.

"Josip Drmic has shown his extra quality over the course of the Bundesliga campaign and he is one of the top strikers in the Bundesliga. We've brought him in to significantly increase our attacking capability and equip the team to have another go at the Champions League," said Bayer Leverkusen's CEO Michael Schade to the club's official website.
