Chelsea yet to agree deal for Atletico star

Atletico Madrid's chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin has revealed that the club have yet to receive any formal offer from Chelsea for the services of Diego Costa.

Costa has been constantly linked with a switch to the West London club, with reports claiming that the Blues had agreed a deal to sign the talented Brazilian-born Spain international.

However, this seems to be untrue, and Atleti CEO Gil has firmly rejected those claims saying that his club have no intention of selling their star striker.

“For a player to leave, we must sign and we have not signed nor negotiated with anybody. We have offered him a contract. If the player wants to stay, the economic side will be resolved with certainty,” Gil said.“For us, we have never mentioned his name in any of the conversations I've had with Chelsea, which have been many. Under normal conditions, Costa will stay with us”.

Atletico claimed their first La Liga title in 18 years, and will have their chance of clinching their first Champions League when they face-off against arch rivals Real Madrid on Saturday.
