Rickie Lambert wraps up Liverpool move

England international striker Rickie Lambert will complete a move to Liverpool today, after successfully passing a medical whilst visiting Merseyside to wrap up contract talks. Lambert leaves Southampton in a £4 million deal.
The Liverpool-born international forward will sign a two year contract and returns to the club where he spent five years as a youngster. It is an emotional return for Lambert, who just five years ago played for Bristol Rovers.
Southampton are expected to move quickly to find a replacement for Lambert and have already been in contact with former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner.
Southampton are also believed to have been in talks with Manchester United over the sale of Luke Shaw, whilst Adam Lallana could also move on this summer, with Tottenham and Liverpool both interested.
