Mikel Arteta to stay at Arsenal
Spanish midfielder Mikel Arteta will remain an Arsenal player after the summer transfer window, despite talk of the former Everton man having asked for more money from the North London side.
Arteta, who has been with the Gunners since 2011, has found himself an important member of the first team this season, playing in a holding defensive role for the Gunners. The 32-year-old reportedly asked for a new contract at the end of the season and apparently Arsenal had rejected his request.
Despite that and regardless of talk of a transfer back to his homeland, Arteta's agent has denied that the player will be quitting the Emirates: "This is totally false. Mikel has no interest in leaving Arsenal."
