Mathieu Debuchy to undergo Arsenal medical

Newcastle United defender Mathieu Debuchy looks set to have a medical at Arsenal in the upcoming week.

The 28-year-old right-back, who has been plying his trade with the French national side during the World Cup finals in Brazil, has been constantly associated with a switch to the Gunners this summer.

According to French newspaper L'Equipe, Debuchy who is considered as the perfect replacement for Bacary Sagna at Arsenal, will make a£7.9m move to the club once he clears the medical.

It is understood that the deal may rise to £12m based on performance-related bonuses.

Debuchy joined the Magpies from Ligue 1 outfit Lille in January 2013.
