Southampton bid for Graziano Pelle falls through
Southampton's hopes of acquiring striker Graziano Pelle on a permanent deal after the south coast club were unable to agree a suitable fee with Pelle's club Feyenoord.
The De Kuip side valued Pelle at 15 million euros whereas Southampton value the player at considerably less than that, with their initial offer of 8 million euros having been quickly rejected by the Dutch club.
Southampton coach Ronald Koeman had hoped to sign Pelle as a long term replacement for Rickie Lambert, who moved to Liverpool earlier in the summer.
Italian club Roma are now believed to be pushing for a transfer for Pelle and are new favourites to sign the striker.
