The new season is approaching and, all across the world, people are selecting players, making transfers and wishing they had a larger budget in their fantasy teams.

This year we found a new fantasy game for the English Premier League which offers managers lots of interesting features and – not least importantly – some great prizes. Digging a little deeper, we found out that the creators of that game also have competitions for the other top 3 European leagues. Choosing between Bale and Ronaldo, Reus and Goetze, Balotelli and Higuain, we had a fun morning in front of the computer screen.

Some of the nice features on offer are:

Head to Head leagues –Teams play each other every week, and the winner of each match is decided on the points scored in that particular round. This type of league simulates the reality of football closer than classic fantasy leagues (which are also available on the site).

Flexible Duration – If you don't want to commit to a league for the whole season, why not just one month? Or one round? All the options are there, and all of them are free.

Coins – The games have an in-game currency which you can earn in various ways, and then use to upgrade your team. This is one of the most essential areas of the game, as it involves thinking ahead.

Medals – Many achievements in the game are rewarded with medals. I am yet to see what medals I can win, but I can't wait to find out!

Trophies– Success in the game is rewarded with trophies. Like medals, I haven't won any to boast about yet, but unlike medals, these stay in your account forever. You will be able to boast to your children in 20 years about winning the national competition of your country, the supporter competition of your favorite club or even the whole game!

Prizes – Last but not least, you can win prizes in the game. There are two account types (Basic and Premium) and each type has its own set of prizes. The ones for paying members are understandably larger.
