Chelsea to seal deal for Mehdi Benatia?

Chelsea are reportedly pondering over a summer offer for Roma defender Mehdi Benatia, according to a report.

The Blues boss Jose Mourinho is understood to be keen on improving his defensive setup, having already signed Felipe Luis from Atletico Madrid earlier this summer.

According to The Star, the West London club are well aware of the impending interest from Manchester United, and will now try to wrap up a deal for the Moroccan international ahead of the opening league encounter against Burnley on Monday.

The Blues have already completed the signing of Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas and Filipe Luis this summer.
