Dunga the right man for Brazil: Pele

Pele feels Dunga is the right choice to rebuild Brazil

Brazilian legend Pele insists new manager Dunga is the right man to rebuild the national side.

The former World up winning captain took over the reins of the Green and Yellows from Luiz Felipe Scolari after their disastrous World Cup campaign and started his second stint at the helm of the Selecao with back to back wins over Colombia and Ecuador in their international friendlies last week.

Scolari lost his job as the Little Canaries’ manager this year after they suffered a humiliating 7-0 defeat against now-World Champions Germany in the semi-finals of the World Cup and then went down3-0 against Holland in the third place playoff.

And Pele, who himself won the tournament thrice with Brazil in 1958, 1962 and 1970, admits that this year was a disaster but has backed Dunga lead the team to better days.

“The World Cup was a disaster because we all expected something else, but football is strange and it always has the knack of surprising us”, Pele was quoted as saying by Tutto Mercato.

“I know Dunga personally and he is a serious man.

“I am convinced that he is right personal to rebuild the national team”, he added.

Brazil will play their next international friendly against rivals Argentina on 11th October at the Beijing National Stadium.
