Chelsea in pole position to sign England sensation?

Chelsea are reportedly considered favourites to seal the services of one of the best young talents from the Premier League.

Everton midfield star Ross Barkley has been heavily linked with a January move to Manchester City, following an excellent season with the Toffees during the previous campaign.

However, The Star claims that the Blues are regarded as front-runners in the pursuit of the England international and are ready to pay as much as £50m for the player's services come the winter transfer window in January.

The report adds that the West London club's willingness to sell striker Romelu Lukaku to the Merseysiders during the summer could play a part in finalizing a deal.

Barkley is currently recovering from an ankle injury.
