Arsenal lead chase for Dutch sensation

Arsenal are believed to be leading the race to land the signature of Schalke 04 striker Klass-Jan Huntelaar, The Express reports.

The Netherlands international has been long linked with a move to the Gunners, but a deal never materialised between the parties involved.

However, The Express claims that the former Ajax star is now ready to make a fresh start in a new league, and a January transfer to the English top flight looks to be on the cards.

It is understood that Schalke would be open to the player's sale this winter, as he could leave the club for nothing when his contract expires next summer.
