Man Utd to release Anderson on free transfer

Manchester United are ready to release midfielder Anderson at the end of the season. The 26-year-old is no longer wanted by the Red Devils and could be heading for the exit door in January.

The midfielder has struggled to reproduce the form that persuaded Man Utd to pay 15 million euros to Porto and thus is set for an early exit from Old Trafford.

Manager Louis van Gaal is ready to release the player from his contract and pay up the duration of his deal as the player will not feature in the Dutchman's squad for the remainder of the season.

It is understood several teams are interested, but Italian giants Roma are the favourites to secure a deal for the defensive midfielder.
